Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the law, health care providers are required to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for services.

This is called a Good Faith Estimate and helps you understand what your services will likely cost before you receive them.

​

What You Can Expect from Us

If you are a self-pay client or not using insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of non-emergency services, including:

  • Psychological consultation

  • Educational assessments

  • Behavioral intervention planning

  • Parent/caregiver support sessions

This estimate will include session fees, evaluation charges, and any other expected costs associated with your care.

When You’ll Receive It

You can request a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule services, or one will automatically be provided to you:

  • In writing, at least 1 business day before your first scheduled service.

  • Electronically or on paper, based on your preference.

  • It will be valid for 12 months from the date it is issued.

Disputing a Bill

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge.

You may contact Thriving Rivers School Psychological and Educational Services first to discuss or resolve billing concerns. If needed, you can also initiate a dispute resolution process through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
